MCSA
No, MCSA is not something you get in a hospital.
I have recently enrolled in a Windows Server 2003 course at my local college.
I am close to complete the first of the 4 to achieve MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator) and once I have done those 4 I will, hopefully have enough brain left to go on for an other 3 to achieve MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer).
I think now it is confirmed… I am a geek.
This first course covered the basics really, the foundations.
We looked at Active directory, the different type of groups, NTFS files permissions, group policy, performance and monitoring, hard disk configuration (RAID…), data storage, drivers, disaster recovery and software update configurations amongst many…
Although I have access to a server at work, being a system admin is not the main part of my job so finding the time to mess about with it doesn’t come very often. Also we run SBS at the office, learning Enterprise at the college so things don’t always match.
I really enjoy it though.
Damn! I am a nerd.
